Scorpio and Sagittarius Compatibility
Scorpio and Sagittarius compatibility: Scorpio and Sagittarius are neighbours of depth and freedom — Scorpio wants intensity and commitment, Sagittarius space and adventure — and the pair stimulates each other when trust is strong. In Vedic matching, where the sign is the Moon sign, Scorpio and Sagittarius take 5 of the 12 points two Moon signs decide: Bhakoot 0 of 7 (the 2-12 axis) and Graha Maitri 5 of 5.
Sagittarius admires Scorpio's passion; Scorpio is intrigued by Sagittarius's honesty and optimism. Both seek truth and meaning, in different ways. Sagittarius lightens Scorpio's moods, and Scorpio deepens Sagittarius's understanding.
Scorpio loves all or nothing: intense, private and fiercely loyal, and slow to forgive a betrayal.
Sagittarius loves with open hands: honest, optimistic and freedom-loving, allergic to being fenced in.
Scorpio's possessiveness clashes with Sagittarius's need for freedom, and Sagittarius's bluntness wounds Scorpio. Sagittarius's open friendships can feel to Scorpio like betrayal.
Agree what freedom and loyalty mean to each of you. Sagittarius should be tactful; Scorpio should trust. Build trust slowly, with consistent actions.
| Koota | Scorpio and Sagittarius |
|---|---|
| Moon signs | Scorpio (Vrishchika) and Sagittarius (Dhanu) |
| Rashi lords | Mars and Jupiter |
| Bhakoot (of 7) | 0 — 2-12 axis (dosha) |
| Graha Maitri (of 5) | 5 |
| The two together (of 12) | 5 |
The Moon signs are 2nd and 12th from each other (Dwirdwadash): Bhakoot gives 0. Tradition links this axis to money and daily expenses. Mars and Jupiter are friends with no enmity either way, a classical exception that eases the dosha; the 0 stays on the score.
Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Sagittarius by Jupiter. Mars counts Jupiter a friend, and Jupiter counts Mars a friend: Graha Maitri gives 5 of 5.
Bhakoot and Graha Maitri are the two kootas the Moon signs settle on their own and that read the same whichever partner is counted first. Varna and Vashya also read the signs but depend on who is the groom; Tara, Yoni, Gana and Nadi need both birth stars.

Fire and water: heat against feeling; the passion is real, and so is the steam.
Fixed and mutable: one holds steady while the other shifts, stability meeting flexibility.
Neighbouring signs (a semi-sextile): different elements side by side, each holding what the other lacks.
Sun-sign compatibility describes two signs, not two people: read it as the tradition's tendencies, and match two real charts with kundli matching.
Here they part. Western astrology treats neighbouring signs as a mild, minor link, while Vedic matching calls the same 2-12 spacing a Bhakoot dosha and scores it 0.
A Vedic sign is the Moon's sign in the sidereal zodiac; a Western sign is usually the Sun's, in the tropical zodiac. Your two signs are often different, so check which reading is about you.
Two signs are a starting point. Your own match reads both full birth charts — all 36 Guna Milan points, Manglik dosha and the 7th houses — so a Scorpio and a Sagittarius can score anywhere.

Scorpio and Sagittarius Compatibility: Questions
Are Scorpio and Sagittarius compatible?
Scorpio and Sagittarius are neighbours of depth and freedom — Scorpio wants intensity and commitment, Sagittarius space and adventure — and the pair stimulates each other when trust is strong. In Vedic matching, where the sign is the Moon sign, Scorpio and Sagittarius take 5 of the 12 points two Moon signs decide: Bhakoot 0 of 7 (the 2-12 axis) and Graha Maitri 5 of 5. A couple's own match needs both birth charts.
Is there Bhakoot dosha between Scorpio and Sagittarius?
Yes. The Moon signs are 2nd and 12th from each other (Dwirdwadash): Bhakoot gives 0. Tradition links this axis to money and daily expenses. Mars and Jupiter are friends with no enmity either way, a classical exception that eases the dosha; the 0 stays on the score.
What is the Scorpio and Sagittarius compatibility percentage?
No single percentage is honest for two signs. Of the 36 Guna Milan points, the two Moon signs alone decide 12, and Scorpio and Sagittarius take 5 of them. The other 24 depend on the two birth stars and, for 3 of them, on which partner is the groom, so kundli matching gives your own score.
Is my Western zodiac sign the same as my rashi?
Often not. A Western sign is usually the Sun's sign in the tropical zodiac; a rashi is the Moon's sign in the sidereal zodiac, and Vedic matching reads the rashi. The rashi calculator finds yours from your date, time and place of birth.
