Business Name Numerology

The calculation is the same as a personal name - it is the reading that differs, because a business name is judged on how it sits with the founder's own numbers. Enter a name to see its value, or several to compare.

  • Pythagorean or Chaldean, from the same letters
  • The founder's own numbers shown beside the name
  • Neither the name nor the date is saved

Score a name

The name is scored from its letters. The date of birth is there because the tradition reads a business name against the founder rather than on its own.

Enter the trading name people actually say out loud. Leave out Pvt Ltd, LLP or Inc unless the suffix is genuinely part of how the brand is spoken.

This date belongs to the founder or owner, not to the company. It produces the Mulank and Bhagyank the name is compared against. Shortlisting several names? Run one, note the total, then change the name field and run it again.

How a business name becomes a number.

There is nothing hidden in this step. Every letter carries a fixed value, the values are added, and the total is reduced by adding its own digits until one digit is left. Spaces, ampersands, hyphens and full stops carry nothing at all, and capitals make no difference.

The reduction, written out

In the Pythagorean column the letters add to 28. Reduce that: 2 + 8 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1. The name number is 1. In the Chaldean column the same nine letters add to 24, and 2 + 4 = 6. Same brand, same spelling, two different answers — because the two systems disagree about R, O and S, not because one of them made a mistake.

Vowels and consonants add back to the total

The vowels alone — A, O, A, A — come to 9. The consonants R, M, L, B and S come to 19, which reduces to 1. And 9 + 19 is 28, the full total. That is the check you can run on any result this page gives you: the vowel and consonant sums must reconstruct the name number before reduction.

Why Pvt Ltd is left out

Add PVT LTD to the same example and the Pythagorean total moves from 28 to 50, which reduces to 5 instead of 1. A registration suffix is paperwork, not a brand — nobody says it in a sales call — so it is conventionally excluded. If your suffix genuinely is spoken as part of the name, calculate both and say which one you used.

Pick one system and stay with it

Running a name in both is informative. Running it in both and then keeping whichever produced the friendlier digit is not analysis, it is shopping for an answer. Decide the system before you look at the result, the way you would fix a metric before running a test.

What a name number cannot tell you

It says nothing about whether the mark is registrable, whether the domain is free, whether the name survives being said over a bad phone line, or whether it is already ranking for someone else. It also carries no evidence of affecting revenue — no tradition here claims a measured effect, and neither do we. Renaming a business that already has recognition costs signage, packaging, registration paperwork, search history and every link pointing at the old name. Weigh a single digit against that honestly.

Common business name numerology questions

Should I include Pvt Ltd or LLP?

Calculate the trading name people actually say. Legal suffixes are usually excluded, but if your brand includes one, calculate both and compare.

Is there a best number for business?

Traditions differ and none of them are evidence-based. Use the number as one input among many, not as a reason to reject a name that works commercially.

Does the founder's number matter?

In the traditional reading, yes - a business name is usually assessed for how it relates to the owner's Mulank and Bhagyank rather than in isolation.

One number is a fact. The set is a reading.

This page computes one number and shows its working, which is what it is for. The Numerology Report takes the same name and date and reads the whole set against each other — the two date numbers, the three name numbers, the Lo Shu grid, any karmic debt before reduction, and where the nine-year cycle currently sits. It is the one page in this set that costs anything, its price is in coins rather than rupees, and every figure inside it can still be checked free on the calculator that computes it.
