Why does my calendar show a different Purnima date?
Because a tithi rarely begins and ends at sunrise. When it is running at sunrise on two days, or on none, traditions divide: some take the day the tithi touches sunrise, others the day it begins. The start and end instants above are the astronomy and are not in dispute — the day is an interpretation of them, and this page names the one it used.
