Griha Pravesh Muhurat in January 2026

These days clear every other rule, but Jupiter or Venus is inside its combustion orb. Almanacs that count asta only while the planet is invisible list some of them.

• 1–18 January Pausha (20 December 2025 to 19 January 2026) is not a griha pravesh month.
• 19 January A permitted nakshatra falls only in Shukla Pratipada, which the rules exclude for griha pravesh.
• 20 January Tuesday — the rules never fix a griha pravesh on a Sunday or a Tuesday.
• 21–22 January The Moon is in Dhanishta, Shatabhisha and Purva Bhadrapada — none of them among the 8 nakshatras permitted for griha pravesh.
• 23–24 January Venus is combust (Shukra asta) from 26 November 2025 to 17 February 2026.
• 25 January Sunday — the rules never fix a griha pravesh on a Sunday or a Tuesday.
• 26 January The Moon is in Ashwini and Bharani — none of them among the 8 nakshatras permitted for griha pravesh.
• 27 January Tuesday — the rules never fix a griha pravesh on a Sunday or a Tuesday.
• 28–29 January Venus is combust (Shukra asta) from 26 November 2025 to 17 February 2026.
• 30–31 January The Moon is in Ardra, Punarvasu and Pushya — none of them among the 8 nakshatras permitted for griha pravesh.

• Month: Vaishakha, Jyeshtha, Kartika, Margashirsha, Magha and Phalguna, counted new moon to new moon (amanta). Chaitra, the four Chaturmas months from Ashadha to Ashwin, and Pausha are closed, and so is any adhika month.
• Weekday: never a Sunday or a Tuesday (the Vedic weekday, which changes at sunrise).
• Nakshatra: Rohini, Mrigashira, Uttara Phalguni, Chitra, Anuradha, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati — the fixed and soft nakshatras.
• Tithi: Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Saptami, Dashami, Ekadashi or Trayodashi of either fortnight, or Krishna Pratipada. Not Dwadashi — the published griha pravesh lists never open a window on it — nor the rikta tithis, Shashti, Ashtami, Purnima or Amavasya.
• Guru and Shukra must be clear of the Sun: no griha pravesh while Jupiter is within 11° of the Sun or Venus within 10° (8° while retrograde).
• Kharmas: not a rule in the published griha pravesh lists, so not a rule here either; dates inside it (16 December 2025 – 14 January 2026, 15 March 2026 – 14 April 2026 and 16 December 2026 – 14 January 2027) are marked, because many families wait for it to end.
• The day: sunrise to the next sunrise, for New Delhi. A day any closed season touches is left out whole.
• Not judged here: the lagna for entering (a fixed lagna is preferred; the month pages mark the fixed lagnas rising inside each window) and the owner's own chart. A priest fixes the lagna inside the window.
