Jupiter mahadasha runs 16 years. This placement speaks most clearly then — in Jupiter's own mahadasha, in its antardashas inside other mahadashas, and in the dasha of the lord of the 9th house. Saturn's and Jupiter's transits over this house, or over the planet itself, wake it too.

- Chant the Jupiter mantra: Om Graam Greem Graum Sah Gurave Namah. Sit facing east after sunrise — Thursday is the strongest day for it. Chant 5 malas a day (540 repetitions), keeping count on a 108-bead mala. Keep it up for 40 days without a break — that completes the traditional 19,000.
- Give a Jupiter donation. Give chana dal, turmeric, yellow cloth on Thursday, before noon. Offer it to a teacher, priest or guru, or to anyone in genuine need. Give quietly, in person, without expecting thanks.
- Daily practice for Jupiter. Apply a turmeric tilak; respect teachers and elders. Keep it up every day for 40 days — consistency is the remedy.
